Wilderness

Deuteronomy 2

There are two things I learned from this chapter and has kept in my heart and of course have also change my mindset. First, we all pass through "wilderness". and second thing, it's up to us how long we will stay in the "wilderness".

There may be a lot of reasons why we pass through "wilderness". In this chapter, they have to, to get to the promise land. They wandered through the desert for forty long years to get to the promise land, and sadly because of the long journey and because of their disobedience some of them were not able to make it.
Now here's the good news, it's not only you who are passing through the wilderness, marami pala tayo! And "wilderness" could be describe as a place where you don't exactly understand why you are there but it's necessary to complete the process of building one's Christian life, in or with regard to Faith, love, loyalty should I say, hope, humility and for the grace of God to work to get to your promised land. You and I pass through this stage maybe, it is because it’s our fault or could be, it's God's way of shaping us. But one thing for sure either way God is there with you and with me in the "wilderness". Because God is God, He is a Father and will always be no matter what.

In Deuteronomy 2:2
“You have made your way around this hill country long enough, now turn north”

But one thing that hit me was the long journey. The journey, originally, should take for about 11 days, but wow! they extended it for 40 long years. Let us try to differentiate 11 days to 40 years. Hmm... in 1 year there are 365 days times 40 years that is equals to 14,600 days. Now that is a big difference! What I am trying to point out, is yes! we all pass through wilderness, that’s a fact. But as to how long we will stay in the wilderness is a big different story. It’s up to us if we want to take the journey in the wilderness for 11 days or 40 years. Yes God will be with us either way ( sa 11 days or sa 40 years) but the question can we live up to that years? And for those who are behind us, can they wait for us until we are over with our wilderness? Or they too, will perish as we take the long journey in the wilderness? God can stay up to that years, but I don’t think we can!
If you believe you are in the wilderness, there’s only one thing to do, Trust God! Next thing to do is to move forward with humility. Do not complain or grumble because it will just prolong the journey and the agony. Huwag makipagtalo kay God! The more we do these things, like try to negotiate the will of God in our lives or do it our way, the longer we stay in the wilderness until we die there and never get to the promised land.
Ok lang agi ta or maka agi tag “wilderness” basta dili lang magtambay didto! agi lang ayaw puyo!
the choice is ours!

Keep moving forward!

Acts 27:22 "You are there to be a favor"

Promise Land

Psalms 122:6 pray for the peace of Jerusalem
Deuteronomy 1
Promise Land
>>Obstructions
V28
1.  People are stronger and taller than we are
- In pursuing our dreams with God we will see a lot of people that will be a reason for us to believe that we cannot go on. We think they are more significant than us and much stronger than us. These maybe are friends whom you think who knows everything and whose influence on you are greater than the voice of God. It could be someone close to our heart, loved ones, parents or best friend. The moment that you focus on these it will start to blur your focus on your dreams. Yes we love them but not as much as we love God whom it the end we will be with. The dream that we have for God will affect everyone around us including our family. They will be affected with the blessing the we have from following, from faithfully obeying God in every way, so it is still not a selfish act when we go for God, it is not saying that we are neglecting the feelings of others but it is saying we love them all the more by obeying God because we know they will also benefit the favor that we will be receiving from our Lord Jesus.
2. The cities are large and the walls up to the sky
- We as Christian sadly like small things, now don’t get me wrong about small things, what I mean is we settle for less, because we think that is all there is for us and we must be contented.” hmm ayoko ko nga”. We are afraid of greater things, because we are not use to dream big things. Well me? I used to be like that, example honestly speaking I don’t like to go to “sosyal restaurant” hehe.. because I always thought humble ko and why spend there when I can just eat along the road haha gamay kayo akong panan-aw sa akong sarili happy nako didto, and because of doing that the people around never experience greater things, I locked them below. I separated them from the real world, from opportunities and also from experience and hindering them to level up their faith in those kind of probability . And so I and them think ‘didto lang mi kutob”, “didto lang mi bagay”. And in connection with our dreams for God when we see some large cities and walls we always think we can’t conquer it, it’s too big for us and especially when we are so comfortable of where we are, we don’t want to go to somewhere else. In relation to these because I settle for less I represented myself less, the way I think, the way I act, i don’t suggest things and I don’t dare mingle with people who think big and I don’t dress well and I don’t experiment on that because I always think God loves me already “ok na ni” but it’s all lies! Christians are made for greater things, we must think big, dream big because our God is a great big God, there’s more for us than where and what we are right now.
V29:
Do not be terrified do not be afraid of them, the Lord your God who is going with you, will fight for you.
This is a promise enough for us to go and dream big things and continue to pursue our dreams for Him because He will always be with us.
3. Anakites – giants
- Personal problem, our giants, we are afraid to face our own weaknesses. Because we believe it’s all about us. By facing the giants in our lives there we will see how amazing and powerful God is, there we can see how big and great is the God we are serving and how he can smashed the giants in front of us, but unless we step forward and face this giants we will not be able to experience God ‘miracles in our lives. We have to step out of our shells and face our selves. There is a saying that the greatest enemy of our lives is ourselves. Its times for us to accept that we are nothing without God, as Paul said “therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me” 2Cor. 12:9. Do not be afraid of giants God can kill them in one shot.
Focus on the Promise land and surely we will be there in God’s grace. We must overlook all obstruction to see the Promise land.

His love

a time to remember.. his love always sooooooo constant and never changing...
hmmm can't describe and can't dig deeper to explain how loved I am by God.
Every morning He wakes me up and tells me how he loves me, ..... and
at night He repeats every word.
my God, my deepest desire is to love you back, by doing things for You, not being forced but willfully and joyfully doing so.
may every thing I do brings me back to remember His Love
I love you Pang..
