300 Men

Judges 7: 4-6
v4 > "There are still too many men. Take them down to the water, and I will sift them for you there. If I say "This one shall go with you,"he shall go; but if I say "This one shall not go with you,"he shall not.
v5 > So Gideon took the men down to the water. There the Lord told him, "Separate those who lap the water with their tongues like a dog from those who kneel down to drink."
v6 > Three hundred men lapped with their hands to their mouth. All the rest lap the water with their tongue.

In this story where God chose 300 Men to fight the battle against the Middianites. God chose the 300 men according to their actions or their response to the test God gave them. ( by how they drink water from the spring)

"our Actions reflects who we are" regardless of whatever the situation is, or time. Our Actions will make us or break us.

The 300 Men

> shows Zeal with Wisdom - Proverbs 19:2;
although they are thirsty they uses the correct manner or the
right way in the eyes of Lord to response to their need. They have the passion and they acted on their passion with wisdom which is
pleasing to God.

> shows Humility, honoring God before anything -
Doing not the shortcuts shows humility and honoring God. It is us showing God that we can wait on Him and we trust Him as we wait.

Everything is a process. Jesus uses His  hands first to pray before He speak to men. Don't forget to give thanks to God before receiving anything from God.

> shows Passion in action -
God as the water, water as their passion. Hands as to action, tongues as to words. These men shows their passion to God through their actions not just through their tongues. Passion is best express in Actions!

> shows Self-control, Spirit-filled
- God's people are self-controlled, He wants to send this kind of soldiers in the battle. Self-controlled people are spirit empowered people. The word of God said in Galatians 5:22-25 the fruit of the Spirit is self-control. God does not or will not send those who are not spirit-empowered (self-controlled) people. Can control emotions, not controlled by situations! ( sa tanan area labi na sa kaon!)

> shows Decency, ethics   or moral
- These men who use their hands to get water to their mouth to drinks, shows ethics or the right way to do it. Unlike the rest who use their tongue like a dog to drink water from the spring. God's people should be the first one to be seen and known as decent people, in actions, in words. The way we walk, we dress, we talk, we mingle ( dili galasgaw, dili unethical, dili pasaway...maka disqualify sa battle, pero pwede mag change!)

> shows that God is not just up to Quantity but Quality too!

Let's count ourselves in. Be!

Prayer

Sunday Service
by: Ptr. Rufino Lagat

Acts 1-4
We must pray, and pray with out ceasing!

What Prayer can do!

1. We can receive Power through Prayer
Acts1:14, 2:4 --> the Apostle received Power through Prayer
-they all joined together constantly in prayer. they where all filled with the Holy Spirit
No Prayer, No Power!

2. We can release Power  through Prayer
Acts 3:1-10 --> Peter and John healed the lame. They Receive and release the power given.

3. We can fight/response to Crisis and persecutions through Prayer
- they use prayer as a response to crisis and persecutions! some will take us in our belief , most will not but our response to these is Prayer!

4. We can resolved all in Prayer!
- wow amen to this!
Acts6:3--> even after all the crisis and the persecutions the church grew in number because they never cease in Praying!
- they pass the responsibility to continue the work of God. they build disciples through prayer.

Do not substitute Prayer with ministry. Prayer works hand in hand with the ministry of God. We work powerfully with the ministry of God if we fervently Pray with out ceasing!

"NOBODY" ordinary to extraordinary

I wonder why the Bible uses small or little things to describe great things, such as,
ants - store up food for the whole rainy season ( not just one, for couple of months)
mustard seeds - a small plant that turns out to be the largest among the plants
coneys - little power but build their own houses
locust - no king but advance together in ranks ( leadership)
lizards - caught in a hand but found in king's palace
these are little creatures but do extra-ordinary things as God made them to be ..
Have you ever tried to think you are a "Nobody", while reading the above what are you getting?
hmm i realize something. I am a NOBODY that is made to do great things, and that is because I am His and He is a great Big God.
sometimes we feel like  a "Nobody" , but if we do, smile because it confirms that we are made to do great things if we give ourselves to Him. God will never use people who think they have what its needs to be successful. He favored people who believe they are somebody when God is present in their lives!

with God we are made to do great things.

Psalms 15

Lord, who may dwell in your sanctuary?
Who may live in your Holy hill?

He whose walk is blameless
and who does what is righteous,
who speaks the truth from his heart
and has no slander on his tongue,
who does his neighbor no wrong
and cast to slur on his fellowman,
who despise a vile man but honors those who fear the Lord,
who keeps his oath
  even when it hurts,
who lends his money with out usury
and does not accept a bribe against
 the innocent.

He who does these things
 will never be shaken.

Forgiveness is not an option it's a command

Paint the Town Red

Paint the Town Red

Sub title:     Paint My Love!
1John3:16

In relation to what Ptr.  Jsalem shared last Friday. Painting the town Red means spreading the blood of Jesus who saves lives. Ptr. Jsalem explained in Exodus12 that if a house is covered with blood the angel would just passed away that house and will not do any harm. Meaning Salvation is in their lives already, regardless of who the person was before . Now with these truth we ought to paint the town red for the salvation of many lives that are not yet in God’s kingdom. Now the door represents God’s kingdom. If the blood of Christ is not in door of your life you’re not in God’s kingdom, you are in the door of the enemy. As Disciples it's are greatest privilege to Paint the town Red!

Paint my love.. I guess most of us remember Michael learns to Rock? It’s a song where a man describes how a woman paints his love. But how do we really paint someones love for us? like our parents, friends and others. Paint means to shade, tint, fill-in or how do we supposed to response on someone's love.
Let's talk about Jesus who is the ultimate and perfect example of how to response to love, love for His Father

How did Jesus paint his love?
Jesus paints His love with Passion
>When comes to passion it lead Him to do far more He can imagine , that is something God imagine for Him. Because God’s imagination is far more higher than ours and when we get to the point of having Christ’s passion it will lead us to unimaginable things. It will lead us to work in an unimaginable ways. That’s how he painted his love for us with great passion.

Jesus paints His love with Compassion
>When it comes to compassion Christ did not just pity us because we are sinner but he found away to execute or work his compassion for us, he worked His compassion for us, feed thousand, teaching them us to live right, how to be a good citizens

Jesus paints His love with Humility
>when it comes to humility, though He is the son of God , He gave that title up for greater purpose. He has everything but He did not use that so not to fulfil His calling or deny his purpose or do it in His convenient way. Jesus paint His love for us with all humility, so that we can be free.

Jesus paints His love with Obedience
>in obedience, love is not something we know bahala masuko si papa or si mama love nako ni sya akong sundun akong gibati. Bahalag masuko silang tanan. Christ is the opposite examples of what we are today. Iya bahala masuko ang tanan masunod lang nako si God, because i know para ghapon ni sa tanan dili lng para sa akong kaayuhan. He painted His love with obedience.

All of these traits it lead me to realization that Jesus painted his love with this two radical things
His love for us
1.) Led in denying himself.  Mark 14:36, Matt. 26:42
> Abba Father, everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me. Yet not my will, but what you will.
-Jesus is Jesus , he is the son of God but he denied himself take up His cross because He love us..
Even the devil confesses his greatness Matt.4.
2.) Led Him to death.  Luke 23:46
Father into your hands I commit my spirit

-          Literally He gave his life for us. First was his will and then physically.
-          Now love should speak in this way. In will and it must lead to action which can be seen by physical eyes.
JESUS’ love was painted in words and in actions. His love was shown on the Cross.

Now this is very essential, very important, very basic for us to know before we could  Paint the Town Red, so that we can do it with conviction, with a believing heart, tagos sa bones ika nga.We should be the first that is convicted of what Jesus did on the Cross, and we should be the first to have this understanding that we are worth dying for, we are someone worth dying for so that we can tell the whole world with all passion that Christ did it for us.

And how do we paint His love? Paint my love! is Jesus saying give meaning life to what I have done.Is our love for God leads us to deny ourselves? Is our love for Christ leading us to death? Not physical death though, but to one’s own selfish will, wants, desire, purpose, dreams and ambitions.  Jesus is like telling us paint my love, bigyang buhay, bigyan kulay, bigyan ng kahulugan. Is our ACTION giving life, color or meaning to what he has done on the Cross?. Are we painting His love like what he did? I am speaking to myself also, these message is for us all, There are no other way that we could paint His love other than doing what he has done for us to others, by painting the town with salvation and what he did on the cross. Share God’words and his love. Care for people, love his people. It is not difficult to love God, but it's difficult and so hard to love the people of God, this will really show how much we love God if we can love his people even if they are unlovable. We can do these if we have the  revelation of his love for us. But Jesus demonstrated his love to us like that, and he is telling paint my love by painting that town with the kind of love I am showing you to other people! By doing it you are loving me much --> Jesus

How will we paint His love? 1John3:16
For those who are in Christ do what he did, for those who are not yet in Christ accept what he did! Then all together we will paint the town Red.
